Worship Songs/Music

We believe that worship songs/music is not just about the lyrics but also about the beliefs/background of the artists.

We believe that the roots (i.e. background/beliefs/doctrine) of the person does matter. Jesus clearly warns us that there will be false prophets that will arise and lead many astray (Matthew 24:11), they will be like ravenous wolves in sheep’s clothing and that we will know them by their fruits (Matthew 7:15-23).

Therefore, it is our conviction that we will only use/recommend songs that are composed by artists/composers that are sound in doctrine and biblical such as Sovereign Grace Music, CityAlight, Emu Music, Hymns of Grace, Stuart Townend, etc. and not Hillsong, Bethel, Elevation, Jesus Culture, Phil Wickham, etc.

Being Biblical

We recognize that God is the ultimate authority and ruler over all creation.
It is God who initiates and carries out His redemptive plan, demonstrating His sovereignty in every aspect of life.
We believe that God’s sovereignty extends to salvation, emphasizing that it is by God’s grace alone that individuals are saved and reconciled to Him.

The authority of Scripture is another key aspect.
We hold a high view of the Bible, considering it to be the inspired and infallible Word of God.
We believe that the Bible is the ultimate source of truth and the guide for faith and practice.
We stress the importance of interpreting Scripture accurately, seeking to understand its intended meaning within its historical and literary context.

We also place great emphasis on personal holiness and the pursuit of a transformed life. We believe that genuine faith in Christ produces a change in one’s heart and leads to a life characterized by obedience to God’s commands. We emphasize the need for repentance, sanctification, and the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in the life of believers. This pursuit of holiness encompasses all areas of life, including relationships, work, and engaging with the world and seeking to bring glory to God through their actions and relationships.

Furthermore, we emphasize the importance of sound doctrine and theological education.
It encourages believers to faithfully live out their faith in all areas of life.

We place value on the importance of corporate worship and the role of the church in the life of believers and we recognize the gathering of believers as a means of edification, encouragement, and mutual accountability.

Expository Style

We believe that expository style preaching and bible study are essential practices for believers who seek a deep understanding of God’s Word and desire to live faithfully according to its teachings. Through the faithful exposition of Scripture, individuals and congregations experience transformation, gain a comprehensive understanding of the Bible’s message, establish a solid theological foundation, and engage in active participation in the study of God’s Word. By embracing expository preaching and Bible study, believers can navigate life’s challenges with wisdom and live out the transformative power of the Gospel.

Complementarianism

We believe that God’s design for men and women involves distinct yet complementary roles. We believe that these roles are not societal constructs but are rooted in God’s established order and His commandments in Genesis 2, 1 Corinthians 14, 1 Timothy 2:11-15. We do so not because we despise the gift of women. According to this viewpoint, men are called to lead, protect, and provide for their families, while women are called to nurture, support, and respect their husbands’ leadership.

We believe that biblical complementarianism provides a solid foundation for understanding the purpose and significance of gender distinctions. It recognizes the inherent value and worth of both men and women, while acknowledging that they have been assigned different responsibilities within various spheres of life.

We do not endorse, support nor condone the ordination of female Elders/Overseers/Pastors and urge churches who does that to seriously repent as they undermine God’s order of creation, roles of male and female and directly contravenes the Word of God.

Social Justice

We believe it is important to clarify some key Christian beliefs and ethical principles that are outlined in the Bible. By doing so, we hope to equip believers and churches to stand strong against teachings that are dangerous and false, and that distort the true message of the gospel and the grace of God in Jesus Christ. Specifically, we are troubled by the influence of secular values on topics such as race and ethnicity, gender roles, and human sexuality. These areas of biblical teaching are being challenged under the guise of “social justice,” which can sometimes be vague and open to interpretation. If we do not firmly uphold and defend the teachings of the Bible on these matters, we fear that these harmful ideas and distorted moral values will seep into other areas of our faith. We want to make it clear that we are sharing these affirmations and denials for public consideration, not claiming any kind of authority over the church. However, we feel a sense of urgency to address these issues, as we have seen these harmful ideas infiltrate not only the broader culture, but also churches and Christian organizations, including some that identify as evangelical and Reformed. It is our hope that by speaking out now, we can help protect the integrity of biblical doctrines and principles.
